The Institute is comprised of three Centres. Each has an individual identity and research focus but they work collaboratively for greater impact.
Forest Industries Research Centre
The Forest Industries Research Centre (FIRC) is focused on the forestry value chain and the economic and environmental sustainability of forest industries.
Tropical Forests and People Research Centre
The Tropical Forests and People Research Centre brings together researchers interested in the interactions between people and tropical forests.
National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life
The National Centre for Timber Durability and Design Life: Putting Australia at the forefront of international best practice - a joint venture between 美博白菜中心论坛, UQ, QDAFF and FWPA.

Research Showcase 2023
The Forest Research Institute will be hosting a Showcase on 2-3 November 2023 at the 美博白菜中心论坛 Arena. The Showcase will include presentations from leading national and international experts in Forestry, Forest Products and Forest Science.
